PNB released another RM2 billion worth of ASW2020 fund starting on this Wednesday, the quota allocation was 49% for non-Bumi and the remaining 51% for Bumi. I am already an account holder without additional cash for investment right now, so when my Mom wanted to open a new account with 2K as startup money I was more than willing to accompany her to the post office to purchase the highly demanded (so high that PNB had to restrict each account holder to RM20K max this time round) fund.
We tried our luck at the post office inside Tesco (more parking and more counters), when we reached the queue number was around 1246, and our number was 1304, long story cut short, we had to wait about 45 minutes until it was our turn to approach the counter. However by then, we were told that all the units has been snapped up as the main system doesn’t accept anymore request. Even the post office worker’s colleague didn’t have any chance to purchase it, can’t believe that.
Well, 1 hour wasted there just queuing up for nothing. But I have to say it’s not due to the large demand for the funds, it was just plain inefficiency of the whole event. Malaysians are “cursed” to queue up anywhere they go. Be it at fast food chains, cinemas, banks, gov organizations, schools, shopping markets, temples and especially on the road. Queues, long queues, mega queues, wtheck.
That’s why I tell my mom we should drive to the max speed limit on the road, because it’s precious time wasted down the drain/road. Somehow this whole event changed my perspective towards sleeping, I don’t rate sleeping as time wasted anymore, at least we can restore our physical energy level after a good sleep, while Queues just suck all your energy without warning.
Wonder if there’s anyway to program our daily activities beforehand, so there wouldn’t be any delay more than a certain amount of time, so there wouldn’t be any mismanagement of time, so there will be less ppl flying around forced to be unlicensed pilots (caused by ffk). But I guess that’s how human life is supposed to be, imperfect.
Can’t imagine if every one is stereotyped like the infected humans in the recent movie “The Invasion”, no soul, then there’s no life, as simple as that. Ah Q spirit is the best hehe…
